Spacecoast Plating specializes in restoration of all types of parts and metals.

We restore and plate the following:

Steel

Of course, steel is the most common metal we work on.   All steel parts receive TRIPLE CHROME PLATING: Layers of COPPER, NICKEL AND CHROME.  Once the part is stripped and the rust removed, your parts are detailed, repaired and sent to the PLATING Department for nickel and copper. They are then sanded and buffed shiny and sent back to the PLATING Department for the final nickel and chrome finish.

We have been plating vehicles and metal parts of all kinds for 30+ years and we are extremely good at it and proud of all our work. Our goal is to make sure that every part we plate has the highest quality, best looking finish we can possibly provide. We take our time and approach every job with the greatest care. Every part is different and has its own story as far as work needed to be done. Occasionally a part is just too damaged to be made “PERFECT”.  Unfortunately, that happens and the customer is given the choice to continue as best we can,  or decides to find better quality parts to run.

Aluminum

Aluminum parts give you two options as to restoration services:

First Option: We can strip the anodizing off your parts, polish them and they can go back on the automotive.  The parts need to be clear-coated with clear enamel or with a product called Sharkhide®, made by Eastwood,  to protect them from oxidation.

Second Option: CHROME plate the parts.  We detail them out for the plating process and then plate them with copper, nickel, and chrome.  This prevents you from having to clear coat them and makes cleaning and protecting them from the elements much easier.

Copper & Brass

Copper and Brass are the nicest metals to plate!  We can polish your parts and then plate them in nickel or chrome.  You can also have them highly polished and then you can clear coat them or have them clear powder coated for lasting protection from the elements.

Pot Metal or White Metal

Pot metal is a mixture of junk or left over metals such as zinc, lead, tin, copper, aluminum, iron or cadmium melted and mixed together to cast items like toys, car parts, emblems and anything die-cast.   Unfortunately, the mixture of metals will begin to oxidize and create a gas causing pitting and cracks over a period of time.  You may start to see pits, white corrosion, and bubbling of plating or paint as the parts age.

Our craftsmen are trained and able to weld, lead, solder and even straighten pot metal parts.  Once repaired they are sanded and sent to the plating department for copper, nickel and then chrome plating.

Stainless Steel

We can straighten automotive molding, removing dents and scratches, polish them to a bright finish and flash chrome them the same as they were from the factory.  STAINLESS PARTS RECEIVE ONE LAYER OF CHROME. You cannot put multiple layers of chrome on anything.  All stainless will get flash chromed unless otherwise preferred or stated in advance.
